  • For the Cupcakes
  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • For the Dulce De Leche Frosting
  • 3 cups powdered sugar

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2/3 cup dulce de leche

  • 2-4 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

  • Make the Cupcake
  • Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Set aside.
  • In the large bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet, stirring just until combined. Stir in the milk, do not over beat.
  • Line a cupcake pan with cupcake papers and fill each hole 1/2 full of batter. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until they spring back when lightly touched. Remove from pan and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Make the Frosting
  • Beat the butter until fluffy, add the powdered sugar, salt and dulce de leche, beating until smooth.
  • Add enough of the cream or milk to make a smooth consistency. Frost the cupcakes generously and drizzle with additional dulce de leche if desired.
